Transparência Brasil, on behalf of the Forum on the Right of Access to Public Information, has presented suggestions to the draft of electoral offenses proposed by the Superior Electoral Court, which defines conduct prohibited to public officials during the electoral period, to ensure that the Electoral Law and the Court’s Resolutions are not used to reduce active transparency in public bodies during this year’s elections.

The contributions include clear and concrete definitions of what is or is not considered prohibited institutional advertising during the electoral period, ensuring that demands for access to information, accountability of public bodies and dissemination of actions and programs are not compromised by the misuse of the Electoral Law by the public administration.
